You might find it surprising that I had never been a guest at a wedding until I was 24 years old; which is part of the reason I became so obsessed with wed
dings when I was younger- because I had always wanted to go to one! Always having been interested in party planning and events (thanks to my mom), I knew
I wanted to pursue a career in that field. However, my passion for weddings really developed during college when I worked as front of the house staff for a premier Chicago catering company for three years. I worked numerous weddings over those years at a variety of Chicagoland venues.
I learned everything from how to set proper table settings to how to execute a perfect dinner service. What I fell in love with the most was seeing each wedding come to life right in front me. I would arrive to an empty venue and within hours it was magically transformed into the wedding of the bride and groom’s dreams. I always enjoyed seeing teams of talented vendors come together to create the perfect reception- each one different than the last. My favorite thing about wedding coordinating is that every wedding reflects a couple’s style and personality, so no wedding is ever the same.
For me, wedding coordinating allows me to use my keen eye for detail and organization skills, along with my creative side. I thrive on the details and making sure everything is in line to create a perfect day for the bride & groom and their guests. My goal for the end of the night is for everyone to say it was the best wedding they’ve ever been to!
I am absolutely thrilled to be a part of the LOLA team and to learn from and work alongside these amazing women. Aside from wedding coordinating, I am a campus recruiter for a professional services firm (which requires a lot of the same skills as a wedding coordinator!). In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, staying fit at barre classes, cheering on Chicago sports teams and the Illini, and exploring Chicago’s always-evolving restaurant scene. Oh, and looking at wedding blogs!
