MICHELLE KURINEC

michelleIt was never a mystery in our home growing up that when the house was illuminated with candles, there was sure to be company coming over. This was the case more often than not, and it didn’t take long for my mother’s love of entertaining, whether it was a spontaneous get together with neighbors or a full fledge St. Patrick’s day blow out, to rub off on me. Wedding planner was always in the back of my head and on the top of my list when it came to what I wanted to be “when I grew up”, but it never seemed to be the practical or responsible decision to seriously consider. It wasn’t until I was introduced to the hospitality major at Purdue University (Boiler Up!) that I actually realized I could follow my first instinct and true passion of weddings and events.

After deciding that I wanted to be involved in the details, creativity, and romance that weddings involve, I jumped on the path to gain a wide variety of experience in many areas of the hospitality industry. Growing up working in the restaurant business has taught me the art of customer service. My experience working for an amazing wedding venue taught me the ropes of catering and event execution, step by step, course by course. Now, the chance to collaborate with some of the best in the industry, the LOLA team, has given me the opportunity to combine all my skills to execute the perfect wedding day.

My number one goal when at an event is to make sure everyone leaves a little (actually, a whole lot) happier. I want to be sure the couple spends more time consumed in each other, and less time worrying about the small stuff, because that’s why I’m there, right?! However, when I’m not on site, you can find me working with brides in another area of their planning process at a couture bridal salon in Chicago’s Gold Coast. What can I say? I may be a little wedding obsessed! In addition to all things wedding and white, I also enjoy hot summer days at Wrigley field, running along the lake in hopes to someday soon complete my first marathon, and trying to become Chicago’s best foodie by experiencing every new bar or restaurant featured by Chicago Eater.
