Jeanne’s Journey for Hope is a foundation that was formed by LOLA team member Michelle Kurinec and her family to help families in the local community deal with the financial burdens of cancer. It was created in honor of Michelle’s mother, Jeanne, who lost her battle in October of 2012.
The Shirley Ryan Ability Lab is the first-ever “translational” research hospital and has been named the #1 rehabilitation hospital for 28 years in a row. After a family member was a patient, LOLA team member Carly Carynski became involved with the Shirley Ryan Ability Lab Associate Board where she has been able to give back in more ways than she could have ever imagined.
Many children in Chicago grow up witnessing violence. I Grow is focused on reducing violence and empowering the Englewood community. Each year, members of the LOLA team help sponsor families for iGrow’s holiday event. The event not only ensures everyone has a gift to open, but helps families restore and reclaim their community.
Every year the LOLA holiday party raises enough money for over 7500 meals for food banks in the Chicagoland area.
The LOLA family has been touched personally by this disease, as have so many others.
