I’m Sanja. My journey with LOLA began in 2016. Technically, I’d like to say that it began in 2009 when Kirsty, one of the lovely LOLA Pros, and I met during our freshman year at DePaul University. Little did I know, 7 years later this connection would lead me to read her Facebook post about LOLA Event Productions in Vogue’s “Ultimate Wedding Planner Master List.” I instantly messaged Kirsty asking if there was any possible way I could involve myself with anything LOLA, which had just been named one of the top wedding planning companies in the world.
I have always been the ‘crafty-creative-busy bee’ type who juggles multiple jobs in various industries and has side hustles galore. Growing up as an immigrant child, I was raised to work hard and never take anything for granted. Naturally, having a full-time job didn’t stop me from jumping at the opportunity to interview with LOLA and here we are years later! I may be biased but I’ve learned from the best. I’ve been lucky enough to have worked as an intern and assistant alongside the LOLA Pros and take great pride in the commitment I’ve made. Even after hundreds of events, there is something unexplainable about transforming a dream into reality. Seeing a client’s face light up with pure joy and gratitude makes all of the long hours that much more worth it.
Oh, and forewarning – I can guarantee that I will tear up at some point during your event. It happens every single time. I simply love celebrating love and the power of human connection.
When I’m not in LOLA-mode, at work, or studying for my graduate degree, I’m either working out, baking just because, or obsessing over the latest home décor trends. On the rare day where I have no agenda, I’m usually on the hunt for the newest spot in the city to grab dinner with my boyfriend or catch up with friends. Can you tell I love being on the go?
Regardless of how hectic things can get on your wedding day, I truly believe that there are only a few key moments people will wish to go back to in their lives. When stress and emotions are at their highest, many tend to forget that their wedding day is only 24 hours. So, as your day-of coordinator, I promise that I will bring calm to your worry and order to your chaos. You’ve done the bulk of the work up until this point. You should soak up every moment and have some fun along the way. Leave the rest to me!
