What a dream modern classic wedding at The Ritz Chicago! When I met Nathalie, she was in the midst of getting her MBA at Northwestern and didn’t have time to plan a wedding alone, but she knew her wedding style: “Classic AF.” The beautiful St James Chapel at the Quigley Center was backdrop to their biligual Catholic ceremony, and then guests made their way back to the Ritz for a hopping reception on a perfect spring day. The amazing weather can be attributed to Nathalie’s family in Columbia that donated eggs to the convent before the wedding… apparently this works, folks! The family has had nothing but perfect weather for all their family weddings! (NOTE: wedding planner stocks up on eggs to donate immediately)
The Ritz Carlton Chicago was the perfect place to create a wedding that was classic and elegant in every way. With a clean and streamlined design, HMR Designs complimented the ballroom with clear glass, artfully placed orchids and callas in the whitest white and tons of candlelight that could reflect in the mirrored tabletops. Tables were named after cities the couple visited and the travel theme was carried through the table assignments which were placed in luggage tags that directed guests to their seats after finding “Where in the World are you Seated?”
The design was completed with letterpress stationery by Steracle Press including coasters that told the waiters “don’t take my drink, I’m just on the dance floor!” and laser cut city names in lieu of table numbers.
The party rocked with the Becca Kauffman Orchestra providing the entertainment. The couple did a fully choreographed dance that won cheers from the guests, and “hora loca” was celebrated with tons of latin music and props for guests to enjoy on the dance floor later in the evening.
