LOLA’s story began back in 2006, when founder Lori Stephenson set out to create something special in the world of weddings. With her signature mix of creativity, organization, and spunk, she built LOLA to where it is today—adding new team members one by one. Lori didn’t just build a company; she built a family that continues to define LOLA today.
Kristy joined the team in 2008, ready to trade in her corporate lifestyle for something that felt more personal and fulfilling. Michelle came along in 2014, fresh out of college and eager to move to the city to chase her dream of becoming a wedding planner. We both quickly realized that we weren’t just learning how to plan weddings—we were learning how to be the best of the best, thanks to Lori’s guidance. To this day, she’s not just a mentor or a boss, she’s our second mom (or big sister as she would prefer).
Fast forward to 2024, when Lori decided it was time to follow her dream of semi-retirement. That’s when we officially stepped into her very sparkly shoes as Principals and Managing Partners of LOLA. It’s an honor we don’t take lightly—and also one we approach with a lot of joy, laughter, and excitement for what’s ahead.
Of course, Lori is still very much a part of the LOLA family we’ve built together over the years. She’ll always have a seat at our table and more frequently in our group text. But now she gets to cheer us on as we carry forward her legacy and put our own spin on it—bringing LOLA to new heights while keeping the soul of what she started nearly two decades ago.
