Tanya and Jason lucked out with the most amazing day for their Southern Cali Dream wedding in Chicago at Chez. The sun was shining, but not too hot, there was a perfect breeze, and the smiles on their guests’ faces were truly infectious. Everyone was so excited to be in town to celebrate the love between these two! Tanya and the girls were stunning and all dolled up thanks to Jean of Diem Angie Beauty Team, and the men didn’t look half bad themselves!
It was such a breeze planning with this couple. They knew what was important to them, and that was food, décor, and a PARTY. After all, their hashtag was #liuluopalooza (a nod to the music festival and each of their last names) and when I first spoke to Tanya, the mention of glowsticks, logos and wristbands came up once or twice! I knew they were going to be a hoot straight from the beginning!
When it came to food, Blue Plate Chicago decided to take a traditional wedding menu and add a little bit of Asian flair and flavor to fulfill the sense of familiarity for their guests who came all the way from China!
Tanya had a clear vision in terms of design, and that was to bring a nod to her Southern California roots by incorporating warm floral, dusty foliage, and beach wood accents to what most would consider being a pretty modern venue! To hide some of the stark white of the venue, Exquisite Designs ended up creating a killer ceiling install of wild and organic greenery to lead Tanya and Jason up the aisle ultimately ending at a gorgeous wall of eucalyptus and wild smilax. These installs then served as the perfect backdrop for our sweetheart table, and topper to a killer dance floor.
Once the formalities were over, it was time to get that music festival vibe going DJ Chris of Marymonica Music did not disappoint! Our bride, groom, and all of their guests instantly made it out on that dance floor, and only left for pie from Hoosier Mama Pie Co, cake (from Molly’s Cupcakes), and late-night treats from Shake Shack!
