When 2 big Irish Catholic families come together to celebrate in a Spring wedding at The Peninsula Chicago on St Paddy’s Day weekend in Chicago, amazing things happen. The morning of the wedding dawned cool and crisp – the perfect weather to reflect the icy touches of soft blues and silvery greens with touches of white in the chosen color palette.
When Remy and Philip set their date, they knew they didn’t want to dive headlong into a “St Paddy’s Day theme” but they wanted to make sure there was a nod to the festive feel of that holiday. The bride and groom walked down an aisle decorated with a family heirloom runner hand painted with green ivy that everyone in Remy’s family has used for their wedding day at Hope, Faith and Charity Catholic Church in Winnetka and recessed to a bagpiper in full regalia. Guests were welcomed into the reception with signature cocktails called “The Irish Lady.”
The reception at Peninsula Chicago was epic and stunningly gorgeous. Revel Décor created silvery green halos that danced over the ballroom and complimented the shimmering candlelight and soaring greenery on the tables. Soft velvet and silver birch linens by BBJ Linen perfectly complimented the look. The final touch was silvery blue letter-pressed menus that emulated their invitation by Steracle Press. The cake created in house by the hotel’s pastry chef perfectly emulated the floral lace on Remy’s Mira Zwillinger gown. No detail was missed and not only was it it amazingly gorgeous, but the Gold Coast All Stars rocked the dance floor until the wee hours of the morning!
