As a wedding planner in Chicago, it’s usually a bit bittersweet at the end of a wedding when I have to say goodbye to regular meetups with a couple and family that I’ve grown to know and love. That wasn’t the case with Caroline and Michael, because I have not 1 or 2 weddings for this family between 2024 and 2025 but THREE! My own wedding 3-peat that I couldn’t be more excited about!

Caroline and Michael new  The Field Museum was the perfect place to launch our 3-peat. So many special memories including other family weddings have taken place at museum, and it only seemed fitting to launch the first wedding of this branch of the family there as well.

While Stanley Field Hall is a soaring and massive space, it was important for the couple that the wedding feel intimate, romantic and understated. To achieve this feel in such a large space we designed a dinner that felt like one large dinner party with 200 of their closest friends and family by seating everyone at 4 long tables with the bride and groom right in the center.

After dinner, guests danced the night away with Beat Mix Music’s, BKO. My favorite details from this design were most certainly the stationery items from Steracle Press. In brainstorming a design story that felt personal to the couple, we got to talking about the bride’s hobby of flower pressing.

We decided that needed to sit front and center starting with the save the date and was carried through the ceremony program and menu cards as well. Each individual program or menu was as unique as the bride herself! In each guest’s seating assignment card, there was also a hand written note from the bride and groom. Touches that truly made this rather large celebration feel truly intimate!
