Romantic Fall Wedding at Theater on the Lake

As a luxury wedding planner in Chicago, it’s not uncommon for our couples to have grown up or met in Chicago and want to plan a wedding here even if they now live out of state or overseas. Chicago is a great central location easy to get to from both coasts and has the luxury wedding vendor market to meet the discerning expectations of well-traveled clients! Kate and Patrick were like so many LOLA couples, planning from out of state with busy jobs and grad school already on their plates. Even though mom was in town, she was dealing with some challenges that made it extra helpful to have a planning partner that knew them well and was invested so deeply in the planning process! This was the 2^nd wedding we’ve done for this family and their trust in LOLA is one of the things that makes me love what I do so very much!

The bride and groom originally came to me liking a very clean color palette of white and green for their wedding celebration. With lots of conversation about the warm and welcoming vibe she wanted her guests to experience and the desire to bring a fall feeling into the decor for the October soiree, we ultimately decided to add some soft tones of peach fuzz, cafe au lait and terracotta into the palette as well as some textural pops with the linen. The final effect was a slightly softer reflection of the original inspiration and more suited to their fall wedding date. Of course, Theater on the Lake was the perfect venue to show off the Chicago Skyline and lakefront to their out-of-town guest list!
