Dark and moody colors galore at Christina and Ron’s wedding in the historic InterContinental Hotel in downtown Chicago.

Initially there were thoughts to have an Art Deco style which led the venue search to some fun historic sites. Ultimately, they fell in love with the rich history of the InterCon and decided to embrace the rooms there as inspiration. They chose the truly unique King Arthur’s Court for the ceremony – hard to imagine a hotel can offer a room that feels so church-like. For the reception they chose the more intimate Renaissance ballroom over the hotel’s Grand ballroom.

With a shift away from a Gatsby feel we turned to be inspired by moody, Dutch Masters floral paintings. From the color story to the green and white checkered dance floor with the gold Steracle Press monogram, Yanni Event Designs knocked the vision out of the park. The room was romantic and perfectly cozy for a blustery fall evening.

Things really heated up when Al from Okyne Media Lab turned up the tunes and people danced the night away. Two things Christina was passionate about – pyrotechnics and painting! Brush and Heart painted live throughout the reception.
