Some weddings feel carefully orchestrated down to the last detail. Others unfold with effortless charm, making the day feel natural, joyful, and full of personality.

Robin and Drew’s early summer Racquet Club of Chicago wedding captured that perfectly.

After exchanging vows at the iconic Fourth Presbyterian Church in Chicago, guests headed to the historic Racquet Club of Chicago. The reception felt like the most charming dinner party imaginable — refined, whimsical, and delightfully unexpected.

Chicago wedding photographer Steve Koo of Steve Koo Photo captured every moment, reflecting Robin and Drew’s playful yet elegant vision.

A Timeless Ceremony in the Heart of Chicago

Robin and Drew began their day at Fourth Presbyterian Church, one of Chicago’s most beloved historic sanctuaries. The church’s soaring Gothic architecture and serene atmosphere created a timeless backdrop for their vows.

The couple blended modern fashion with classic elegance. Robin wore stunning gowns by Rosa Clará and Danielle Frankel, while Drew and his groomsmen looked sharp in classic formalwear from Emanuele Tuxedo.

Robin’s beauty look was polished yet natural, thanks to stylist Gabe Post with Bianca Sansosti Artistry.

An English Countryside Dinner Party — in Chicago

Their reception vision was wonderfully specific:

“As if your eccentric uncle who lives in the English countryside decided to throw a lavish last-minute dinner party.”

EV Design Collective, the Chicago wedding planner and design team, brought this concept to life, transforming the Racquet Club into a layered, whimsical garden party.

Florals spilled from every corner — lush, abundant arrangements that felt organic rather than overly structured. The design leaned into eclectic charm, making it seem like each piece had been thoughtfully gathered over time.

Instead of perfectly matched tables, guests discovered a curated mix of linens, chairs, and tabletop pieces from Chicago rental partners Nuage Designs, The Festive Frog, Halls Rental, Hinsdale Table, and BBJ La Tavola.

The result was beautifully mismatched and full of personality. Patterned linens, unique chairs, and layered tabletop details made every table slightly different, yet perfectly cohesive.

Even the paper details enhanced the charm. The couple’s invitations and day-of paper goods, designed by Steracle Press, added an artistic, tactile touch that complemented the evening’s eclectic aesthetic.

A Packed Dance Floor

After dinner, the celebration shifted into full party mode.

Chicago’s own wedding band, Front of House, kept the energy high all evening, filling the Racquet Club dance floor with guests ready to celebrate.

Between songs, laughter, and trips to the playful photo booth by Vista Booth, the night unfolded exactly as the couple imagined — relaxed, joyful, and full of unforgettable moments.

A Wedding Full of Personality

Robin and Drew’s wedding proves that the most memorable celebrations embrace personality and storytelling.

From the timeless ceremony at Fourth Presbyterian Church in Chicago to the eclectic, English countryside-inspired dinner party at the Racquet Club of Chicago, every detail reflected the couple’s vision. The day felt effortless, welcoming, and deeply personal.
