As a Chicago wedding planner who has a strong passion for “More is More” design, there is nothing dreamier than reading the note “I LOVE COLOR” in a new client inquiry. I knew at that moment Silpa had come to the right place, and as the planning commenced, I knew we were going to have fun planning their colorful South Asian wedding, and fun it was, during the planning and on the day!

The day kicked off with a musical Baraat for Gage outside of the Chicago Cultural Center. As Gage processed down Garland Court in Silpa’s dad’s vintage yellow Porsche, guests danced alongside of him to the beats of a Dhol Player and DJ Chris Somera of Elegant Sound and Lighting. Guests followed his lead as he made his way to the steps of the Chicago Cultural Center where Silpa’s family was waiting to greet him and bring him into the ceremony which was taking place in the gorgeous Preston Bradley Hall. A beautiful floral elephant made none other than our talented mother of the bride directed the guests down the aisle and into their seats.

The mandap was set under the awe-inspiring Tiffany Dome and featured lush florals in shades of pink, green, yellow, orange, red, and blue design to perfection by the team at Life in Bloom. Florals spilled into the aisle creating the perfect path for our bride to make her grand entrance.

After a beautiful ceremony, guests proceeded to Gar Hall for a lunch and then went back to their hotels to rest up for the reception later that evening. Silpa and Gage underwent their outfit changes and then hit the town with Jamie Loren and Hunter Floyd for a portrait session with their beloved pup Luka, brilliantly taken care of by Julianne of Luxe Dog Nanny.

As guests arrived back to the Chicago Cultural Center, they were greeted with an abundance of bites from the team at Mantra Catering. Passed appetizers and stations were flowing at cocktail hour, followed by an incredible family style meal for dinner. The reception featured various styles of centerpieces filled with colorful blooms, brilliant taper candles, patterned linens by BBJ La Tavola, and eclectic glassware from Tablescapes Chicago. Our mandap was used as a backdrop for the bride and groom’s sweetheart table as well as a backdrop for the photobooth in conjunction with our floral elephant friend!

Throughout dinner, Guests were entertained by toast, song and dance from friends, family members, and the couple of honor before they made it to the dance floor to boogie the night away to the beats of DJ Chris, only tempted off the dance floor for Turkish Cake from A Thousand Tales Bakery or a slice of Za from the Bride’s favorite, Domino’s! Noone left hungry, and everyone left happy! A true LOLA success!
