As a wedding planner in Chicago, I think my very favorite part of the job is working with families repeatedly as their siblings, cousins and besties hire us to help them plan as they tie the knot. I planned Sam’s sister’s wedding at Langham Chicago in 2016 and was so happy to reunite to plan with Sam (our Man of Honor) and his fiancé, Justyna this year! As a couple, there is nothing they love more than their adorable pup and a bumpin’ dance party. Their home has a modern loft feel and they wanted to recapture that with their wedding venue. With those things in mind, we got to work!

We chose The Dalcy in the West Loop for our ceremony and reception. This wedding venue truly was the best of both modern and vintage with a super cool edge. Justyna practically floated down the aisle in her Monique Lhuillier gown and veil from Ultimate Bride to exchange her vows with Sam under a canopy of floral, the cocktail hour took place on the magnificent patio at Aba Restaurant on a gorgeous summer day (complete with Shinerbach Beer since Sam’s last name is Shiner!), and the reception was FILLED with long tables with ethereal white floral from EV Design Collective floating overhead. As a little twist to add some party vibes, disco balls were added throughout the ceiling installations when guests entered back into the space post cocktail hour for dinner and dancing. The décor was completed with a spectacular cake by Flourish Cake Design, rentals by Nuage Design, BBJ Linen and Halls Rentals and a surprise guest made an appearance: a cute cutout of their dog, Georgi (he also made a cameo on their invitation RSVP card by Steracle Press). Guests danced the night away to the Chicago Players and mugged for the photo booth by Vista Booth. Amanda Megan Miller and Mirar Weddings snuck the newlyweds away to capture some late-night photos and film in Fulton Market that perfectly captured their cool style and capped the spectacular evening.
