When clients have so many ideas you don’t know where to start it can be incredibly fun and inspiring, but also incredibly challenging.  Trying to curate a vision that includes all the must-haves and still feel cohesive is part of the task we make easier for our clients!  Alex and Glenn were OVERFLOWING with ideas and the final look was spectacular.

The creative team took inspiration from Alexandra’s Indian heritage for the ceremony overlooking Lake Michigan by focusing on a stunning mehndi inspired aisle runner. When guests entered the planetarium for dinner and dancing, we spun some magic with Glenn’s love for constellations.

The design was woven together with a colorful color story in deep fuchsia, purple and blue and executed with floral and vintage colored glass by Exquisite Designs, clean white tables and crystal chiavari chairs by Tablescapes Rentals and stunning turquoise linen by BBJ Linen. Lighting by Frost Chicago added depth and excitement to the room.

My favorite detail from this wedding… When Alex and Glenn first met with me, Glenn had actually corresponded with a nature conservation organization about bringing their GRIZZLY BEAR to the wedding so that it could walk down the aisle with the groom…  For obvious reasons, that wasn’t going to work (I draw the line at the aspect of physical danger for my groom at a wedding!), but Glenn wasn’t going down without SOMETHING fantastic happening.  Well… at the last minute, the bride and I decided that Glenn had to have his spirit animal at the wedding.  So what did we do?  We rented a bear suit, popped a top hat onto it, and the wedding planner made a cameo on the dance floor in the sweatiest 15 minutes of her career!
