Ashley and Joseph were one of those lucky couples trying to plan a Chicago wedding in the unknown of a global pandemic. They were anxious to start a family and didn’t know if they wanted to postpone…. Well, why not do both and add the cutest little ring bearer we ever did meet to the wedding VIP list? Baby J in his custom-matching tuxedo to his papa is the very best and cutest wedding detail I’ve ever had the pleasure of helping to coordinate!
The venue for the couple’s reception was a no-brainer. Since Joseph is the head of beverage for RPM Seafood, celebrating at RPM Events was a given. Knowing the food, beverage, and service were going to be executed to perfection was the jumping-off point for the planning. We wanted to use as many of the many elements offered by the venue in the design as we could; linen, chairs, tabletop and even the signature RPM menu cards were the perfect clean jumping-off point. HMR Designs took our crazy mash-up of ideas and created the most gorgeous tulip and candle chandeliers that perfectly blended into the existing ceiling with their black shades. Low and lush floral and modern lucite candelabras finished the design. Stunning black and white photos taken by Studio This Is for the couple’s engagement perfectly accented the bays in the cocktail space and created a backdrop for our seating assignments.
After dinner guests enjoyed a rowdy dance floor compliments of Elegant Sound & Lighting and the terrace off the ballroom provided perfect views of the city and river while still being able to watch the action indoors. The RPM signature dessert carts were a perfectly sweet way to end the evening.
This uber-chic black and white wedding was the epitome of modern and clean, but also showcased the completely unexpected from décor to ring bearer! Embracing challenges became a part of the fabric of the event, and we couldn’t be happier with how everything worked out.
