Some wedding days just feel like magic — that perfect mix of sunshine, fresh air, and love in the air. Leanna and Austin’s Chicago wedding at The Old Post Office was exactly that. It happened on one of those gorgeous September days that still felt like summer, but with a little whisper of fall waiting around the corner.
Their color palette captured that moment perfectly. Think bright orange and coral blooms (shoutout to the amazing team at Fleur) mixed with earthy shades of olive green, amber, and oak. The whole look was a sweet nod to mid-century modern design — warm, stylish, and totally “them,” without feeling overly themed.
The Vibe
From the very first meeting, we knew Leanna and Austin were something special. They’re the kind of couple who radiate joy and kindness — the ones you instantly want to celebrate. So, it made perfect sense that their wedding day would be just as full of life, color, and genuine happiness.
With the LOLA team by their side, every detail fell into place so naturally. The ceremony was filled with happy tears. Dinner felt like an intimate dinner party, complete with subtle nods to Austin’s Korean heritage (beautifully crafted by Blue Plate Chicago). And when it came time to dance? The floor stayed full all night long — thank you, Elegant Sound of Lighting!
Design Details We Loved
The Florals: Bright coral and orange blooms brought that last burst of summer energy, while greenery and amber accents gently eased everyone into fall.
The Decor: We mixed oak wood textures with amber glassware and olive green linens, then added warm, moody candlelight from BBJ La Tavola, The Festive Frog, and MDM Entertainment. The result? A cozy, mid-century-inspired vibe that felt both fresh and inviting.
The Paper Details: Custom stationery from Steracle Press tied it all together — clean, modern, and just the right amount of color.
The Venue: The Penthouse at The Old Post Office was pure magic — airy, modern, and full of natural light. It’s one of those hidden gems tucked high above the hustle and bustle of downtown Chicago.
