This explosion of Fall Foliage at Café Brauer was truly one for the books. Maggie, Brian, and Nancy (Maggie’s mom) had me laughing from the moment we started planning, through the very last song. It’s clients like these that make the job so much fun, and when clients are open to my thoughts and ideas from a design perspective, it truly allows us to bring new event ideas to life instead of redesigning the same event over and over.

The day started with the guys and gals, and sweet pup Murray, getting ready at the iconic Ambassador hotel. Maggie and the bridesmaids were all glammed up by Gabe Post, while Brian and the guys were able to chill a little while longer, and casually enjoy a nice round of beer pong. The bridesmaids were each their own style of glam, sporting black gowns in the style of their choosing, and the men remained simple and elegant, in black tie. Maggie slayed in her LouVienne gown, and Brian’s jaw dropped when he saw her for the first time with city views as the backdrop.

A ride around town made for some epic photo opportunities with Olivia Leigh. They tackled the landscape of the Lincoln Park Zoo, where Café Brauer, their reception venue, resides and toured the streets of Lincoln Park for some more architectural scenery. They finally landed at St. Pauls United Church of Christ for everyone to freshen up and make this thing official.

After the vows were made, and psalms were sung, it was time to get ready to mingle with their guests. Maggie, Brian, and the gang finally made their way to their open bar at café Brauer to sip cocktails on the loggia as we put the finishing touches on their gloriously fall-honed reception.

The Great Hall was GLOWING due to the perfect lighting treatment delivered by Frost Chicago which made the foliage and fruit-filled design of HMR Designs shine even brighter than one could imagine. The gorgeous cake from ECBG stood center stage, ready to be nibbled, and the paper goods from Steracle Press made for the perfect personal touches in the space.

Finally, guests were fed amazing bites by Tiger Lily Catering, and it was time for the Chicago Players to do their thing. Not even one second after the dance floor was announced open, it was PACKED for the entire rest of the night and all guests from near and far had the time of their lives!
