We met Dana when she was a bridesmaid for another LOLA Bride. It’s the ultimate compliment when someone had such a great experience with us that they hire us for their own celebration!

Dana asked each of her 12 bridesmaids to wear a black gown of their choosing so that each attendant could translate their own personal style into their wedding look. The Presidential Suite at the Ritz Carlton Chicago made for the perfect backdrop for prep photos and gave this large wedding party plenty of space to spread out and have a great time during hair and makeup preparations on the wedding day.

Dana and Max selected the perfect venue for their modern wedding… The MCA Chicago. With its gorgeous outdoor sculpture garden and minimalist clean white atrium, it was the perfect blank canvas for a long candle-filled aisle, sparkling twinkle light-filled chuppah, and clean rows of long tables filled with multiple levels of candlelight. Architecturally styled succulents and touches of black on the tabletop completed the minimalist look.

Dana and Max also put a unique spin on their wedding reception timeline… Guests cocktail BEFORE the ceremony upon arrival and then moved directly from the ceremony into dancing and dinner inside the museum following the “I do’s.”

Our Favorite Details

Everything about the inspiration for this celebration was about light and sparkle. Flowers took a back seat to candles and fairy lights, and even the date was chosen so the happy couple could exchange vows after sunset under a star-filled sky. It’s only fitting then, that at the end of the ceremony the bride and groom made their recession down the aisle to a sparkler exit! Nothing says “just married” like pyrotechnics and it of course makes the most amazing photo op!

Another favorite: the late-night snack boxes of burgers/fries and Cokes that each guest received on their way home at the end of a fun-filled evening of dancing the night away to the Lakeshore Encores
