Golden & Glowing Halloween Weekend Wedding at The Old Post Office

What’s more exciting than working in a brand-new venue that has been beautifully renovated? Working with a couple who has amazing taste and wants to fill that new venue with exquisite things, feed their guests delicious food, dance the night away to a hit band, and leans into Halloween weekend.

Carli started her wedding day at the Gwen hotel, getting dolled with her bridesmaids by Shannon O’Brien and Erin Graham while Scott got ready at their new home in Lincoln Park with his groomsmen. Scott eventually made his way over to the Gwen via a Second City Trolley to do his first look with Carli on the terrace of her suite. She stunned him in her gown by Mira Zwillinger, purchased from Ultimate Bride and he didn’t look too bad himself in a black-tie from Emanuele Tuxedo.

After the first look, Natalie Probst and Charlie Hilbrant took these two and their friends out on the town to hit a few picturesque spots prior to making their way over to the Old Post Office. Once they made it to the Old Post Office, they were sure to take advantage of the beautiful spaces the building had to offer for some additional portraits and family photos, and then it was time to get down to business.

When guests arrived, they walked into the Grand Lobby of the Old Post Office which was adorned with the most spectacular hanging focal and the most illumined, golden light that accentuated the already gilded features of the building and made for the most spectacular backdrop for a ceremony processional.

After the ceremony, guests made their way upstairs to the brilliantly designed Telegram Lounge to sip on cocktails and delicious bites served by Blue Plate Catering and place their gifts in the most on-brand mailbox turned gift box, guarded by Mochi, the couple’s pooch who was with us via foam cutout.

During cocktail hour, the true magic was happening from the teams at HMR Designs and Frost Chicago back in the Grand Lobby. Our spectacular ceremony focal magically doubled into two glorious fixtured above two 20ft oval tables topped with lush, fall-inspired florals and foliage and glistening candlelight. Nuage designs supplied the most complimentary toned velvet linens to adorn the tabletops, and menus from Steracle Press were there to wet the whistle of our guests when they arrived for dinner.

Once guests were fed and Carli and Scott cut their cake from Sweet Mandy B’s, it was time to get the party started, and that’s where The Party Faithful came in. Colby and crew kept these guests on their feet all night, even chanting for an encore once the clock stroke Halloween! But alas, the party had to come to an end, but as guests left, they were treated to one last surprise. Our skeleton butler Oscar had trick-or-treat bags ready for them to take on their way, down the staircase lined with beautifully carved jack-o-lanterns to really kick off Halloween!
