When it’s 70 and sunny for your wedding day in Chicago, it is truly a gift from Mother Nature, and it puts everyone in the best possible mood. Now add that gorgeous weather to your wedding day on a Saturday in late October and the weather gods are truly smiling. This was the setting for Haley and Jim’s wedding day at Theater on the Lake. We had purposely started our cocktail hour a bit earlier than usual hoping to capitalize on a pre-sunset cocktail hour overlooking the lake and city, but to be able to set everything outside was truly a treat for guests.

Prior to our reception at Theater on the Lake, Haley walked toward her groom down the same aisle at Holy Name Cathedral that her mother walked for her own wedding to Haley’s father almost 30 years before. Haley practically floated in her Mira Zwillinger gown and cathedral veil.

Guests were welcomed with signature cocktails and sunshine without a cloud in the sky… but when they entered Theater on the Lake for dinner and dancing, the most gorgeous floral clouds by HMR Designs floated effortlessly over the room drawing ooohhs and ahhhs from guests and setting the perfect stage for the most romantic dinner by Entertaining Company. Soft shades of blue and textural white linen and tons of candlelight completed the look of the room. The pattern was carried over from our save-the-date and invitations by Steracle Press to add personal touches to the design. The bride even designed her own monogram crest that was used from the save the date to the welcome amenities for out-of-town guests and the cocktail napkins at the reception.

Once dinner was over, guests moved over to the stage where a trio of disco balls and the Gold Coast All Stars did their best work creating an epic dance party under a trio of 2022’s hottest trend; disco balls.
